Who thinks Rob, Beth, and Lily from Cloverfield are still alive?

Most people probably heard the radio transmittion where it%26#039;s like %26quot;help us!, we%26#039;re still alive%26quot;. That sounds that Rob or Beth might still be alive. What about Lily? She gets on another helicopter, and then you seen another one crash. You think Lily might be alive or dead? (I loved Lily, so I sure as hell hope she survived...lol)

Rob names all the people he has seen killed by the monster n lily%26#039;s name is not mentioned indicating he personally doesn%26#039;t believe her to be dead. however shortly after lily%26#039;s helicopter takes off a flaming mass is seen thrown into a tank had this been lily%26#039;s helicopter the the remaining people would have reacted with horror however there was no such reaction so its likely she survived.


at the end of the credits the the director of the movie Matt Reeves voiced the line %26quot;it%26#039;s Still alive%26quot; not the actor who played Rob (it only sounds like %26quot;help us%26quot; because it was back masked and playing in the movie backwards) so there is nothing indicating whether Rob and Beth survived but given the fact that the government didn%26#039;t nuke the monster(or at least they didn%26#039;t in the movie [this is known because had they nuked it it would be 1 blast and a white flash yet in the movie it was 2 separate explosions] we can%26#039;t say whether they nuked it after the movie we saw takes place) its possible rob and beth survived the blast and the monster is not an alien its an earth bound creature it was awoken but the %26quot;thing%26quot; you see fall in to the water during the final scene (it was a satellite from tagruato) and it%26#039;s attacking NY simply because it%26#039;s confused and scared. you can get most of this information and more in a bit more depth at %26quot;cloverfield%26quot;s page at imdb(sorry for the length of this answer i%26#039;m just very bored and felt like typing i hope this answers all your questions on the subject)
Reply:well i was kinda confused too, did that one girl make it out? the one that left by helicopter?
Reply:It%26#039;s a fair possibility that Lily is alive at the end of the movie. As for Rob and Beth, I can%26#039;t imagine that they got out from under that bridge -- too much stone and shrapnel.
Reply:I just had the same thought while cooking dinner earlier (of all times). I think they%26#039;re still alive. IMO: Lily made it out with the chopper.





At the end, we%26#039;re left to assume that the nuclear blast would kill Rob and Beth almost instantly. But a nuke would most certainly destroy the tape that the government later found (and that we watched) as well.





I%26#039;m thinking that the monster has some ability (call it a force field or whatever) that allows it to repel all the missiles (even the nuke). If so, chances are Beth and Rob were protected as well.





We%26#039;ll just have to wait for the sequel to know for sure!

Reply:Well I didn%26#039;t hear the %26quot;help us!%26quot; thing because my mom and I left when the credits began. But I heard that it actually said %26quot;help us, it%26#039;s still alive!%26quot; which puts on alot more options. MY opinion is that the monster is still alive and that Rob and Beth are dead. I think Lily might have survived because I didn%26#039;t see any other helicopter crash. Like I said, I think the monster survived the bomb because during the movie when it showed the military bombing and shooting the monster...it didn%26#039;t look like it had that much of an affect.
